Hawzah News Agency- the Head of Iran’s Seminary Ayatollah Alireza Arafi said on Tuesday, July 23 in a group meeting with Russian intellectuals,” With the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation at the highest political and cultural levels, the two countries enjoy close relations, but they should boost their bilateral ties since the common interests of the nations of the region depend on the development of relations between Iran and Russia as the two largest countries in the region.”
In another part of his speech at this meeting, the head of Iranian seminaries explained the interpretation of the Islamic Revolution from the religion of Islam, saying,” The manifestation of Islam that originated from Qom and the seminaries and was published by Imam Khomeini is the correct and balanced reading of Islam.”
He pointed out that in the Islamic world, we are facing two readings and incorrect interpretations of Islam. The first misinterpretation is a minimal and liberal interpretation of Islam, which leaves aside the basic and main elements of Islam as an Abrahamic and monotheistic religion and obscures it in Western goals. We call this interpretation American Islam which is false.
The member of the Supreme Council of the Iranians Cultural Revolution continued,” The second improper reading and interpretation is a radical interpretation of Islam, from which takfirist and terrorist groups emerge, and sometimes this reading is spread in the form of a minority, with the support of Westerners. And we saw an example of it in the emergence of the ISIS takfirist group, which Iran and Russia jointly fought against in Syria, however, this kind of thinking makes radical extremist movements from time to time in different regions.”
Ayatollah Alireza Arafi further noted that the third reading, which originated from Qom seminary and was published by the Late Imam Khomeini, is the correct and balanced interpretation of Islam. The third reading, which we are propagating, is associated with elements such as rationality and religious thoughts being based on philosophical and rational thinking.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Mustafa International University stated,” In this view, we consider common sense for humanity, and we consider common elements for religions. From this point of view, human dialogue, interfaith dialogue and intercultural dialogues should be based on genuine and authentic dialogue.”
Ayatollah Arafi concluded his speech by saying that according to this interpretation of Islam, one should value justice and the benefit of all mankind from the gifts of this world, and fight for justice where necessary.
